Welcome to Access Vacation Bible School
Thank you for inquiring about Access Vacation Bible School for people with disabilities from ages 6 – 99.
We strongly believe that people with disabilities should have the same experiences as others. This includes knowing Jesus and how important he is in our lives.
Access Vacation Bible School is open to all who are willing to maintain the camp’s Christian standard. All are welcome regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, or any other attribute.
Access VBS for people with disabilities is taking place August 13 & 15 from 10AM-Noon at St James Episcopal Church (434 N 8th St, Manitowoc, WI 5422).
Campers (minor or adult participants) will need a parent or guardian when they come in as the parent or guardian will be given a ticket that must be presented when the camper is picked up.
All campers will first meet for introductions and songs. Then adult and child campers will be broken up and go to separate stations. There will be aids at each station plus someone to lead the campers to each station. Stations include Bible stories, recreation, and arts and crafts.
Our volunteers have been trained in understanding and working with people with disabilities. We have several special education teachers and a nurse on our staff. All volunteers have had background checks and completed the Episcopal Church training on Safe Church, Safe Communities.
However, if you wish to be your child’s aide, we welcome you to volunteer for your child and/or other family members only. Please contact the number below.
If you have any questions, please feel to contact me, Eleanor Agnew, one of the camp directors, at 920-973-5005 or [email protected].
We are looking forward to meeting you and your camper!
