Fellowship - Sundays at 11AM (suspended until further notice)
Attendance has been low since we started Zoom Fellowship, and was only staff the past 2 Sundays. Therefore, the Vestry has decided to suspend Sunday Fellowship time by Zoom until a need for this arises. (This is not a bad thing--we'll continue to adapt our schedule of ways to worship, share, learn, and stay connected based on the needs of our congregation.) If this is something important to you that you'd like to participate in, please send an email to info@mysjec.com or talk to Amma Diane.

Daily Morning & Evening Prayer on Alexa/Google Assistant
Both Alexa and Google Assistant have learned some Episcopal prayers. Thanks to a partnership with between Forward Movement and TryTank Experimental Lab, you can now say, “Alexa, open Episcopal Prayer” or “Google Talk to Episcopal Prayer” and your device will begin playing the morning or evening prayer podcasts of Foreward Movement (a ministry of The Episcopal Church).

“Whether people are at home or on the go, Alexa’s ability to lead us through the daily office will be both useful and inspiring,” said the Rev Canon Scott Gunn, executive director of Forward Movement. “As a bit of a geek, I’m excited about this marriage of technology and Anglican tradition to equip disciples for daily prayer.”
Depending on the time of day, either Alexa or Google Assistant will either play the morning prayer or evening prayer podcasts, which include the full liturgy of the daily office along with the assigned psalms and readings for the day.
Taizé on Sundays 5/17 & 5/31 at 5:30PM
The Center for Spiritual & Religious Life at Lawrence University in Appleton is hosting virtual Taizé services at 5:30PM on Sundays May 17 & May 31. This is an interfaith contemplative experience with candles, silence, chant, and prayer from the Christian tradition, similar to the Taizé services at St Norbert's Abbey in De Pere. Click the following link for information about their live streams.

Thanks for your support!
Several people have asked ways they can continue to financially support St James when we are not gathering in person. You can still mail checks to St James Episcopal Church, 434 N 8th St, Manitowoc, WI 54220. Contributions are being regularly counted and deposited. You can also set up one-time or recurring payments through your bank (most offer this for free). Look for "bill pay" or similar options online or call your bank.

People have asked us for an online option to donate, so we have added Tithe.ly to our new web site.

We know that these are difficult times for some, and we understand if you are unable to support the church financially. Please contact Amma Diane if you need help connecting to assistance or resources.

Streamlining our emails to twice per week
We're streamlining our emails a bit. We'll now be sending two messages to our email list, typically on Tuesdays and Saturdays. These emails will continue to include information about our various at-home opportunities, downloadable PDFs of bulletins, links to view some Worship services live or at a later date, information for connecting to other audio-only opportunities, etc.

Until further notice, St James Weekly will not be a separate email--it will be a downloadable PDF included in our Saturday emails. St James Weekly and the bulletin will be printed and mailed to those we are aware of who do not have email access. If you'd like to receive paper mailings of St James Weekly and bulletins one time or regularly, please contact Amma Diane ( dianemarie.murray@gmail.com or 920-860-5152).
