Becoming Beloved Community series through 8/23
The Beloved Community is the body within which all people can grow to love God and love the image of God that we find in our neighbors, in ourselves, and in creation. It provides a positive, theologically, and biblically based ideal that orients the work of racial healing, reconciliation, and justice. It is the end toward which the Jesus Movement points.

The Episcopal Church’s Becoming Beloved Community vision frames a path for Episcopalians to address racial injustice and grow as a community of reconcilers, justice-makers, and healers who share a passion for the dream of God. Because this is the work of spiritual formation, and not simply completing a training or implementing a set of programs, individuals and congregations are encouraged to embrace the journey ahead as a long-term commitment.

St James Episcopal Church will begin our Becoming Beloved Community journey with a seven-week Worship series at 10AM on Sundays through August 23. As the summer progresses, we'll have other opportunities to engage more deeply together.
Thanks for your support!
Several people have asked ways they can continue to financially support St James when we are not gathering in person. You can still mail checks to St James Episcopal Church, 434 N 8th St, Manitowoc, WI 54220. Contributions are being regularly counted and deposited. You can also set up one-time or recurring payments through your bank (most offer this for free). Look for "bill pay" or similar options online or call your bank.

People have asked us for an online option to donate, so we have added Tithe.ly to our new web site.

We know that these are difficult times for some, and we understand if you are unable to support the church financially. Please contact Amma Diane if you need help connecting to assistance or resources.

Our special offering in the month of August goes to the Rector's discretionary fund, supporting those in need in our community-- please label your gifts accordingly.

Daily Morning & Evening Prayer on Alexa/Google Assistant
Both Alexa and Google Assistant have learned some Episcopal prayers. Thanks to a partnership with between Forward Movement and TryTank Experimental Lab, you can now say, “Alexa, open Episcopal Prayer” or “Google Talk to Episcopal Prayer” and your device will begin playing the morning or evening prayer podcasts of Foreward Movement (a ministry of The Episcopal Church).

“Whether people are at home or on the go, Alexa’s ability to lead us through the daily office will be both useful and inspiring,” said the Rev Canon Scott Gunn, executive director of Forward Movement. “As a bit of a geek, I’m excited about this marriage of technology and Anglican tradition to equip disciples for daily prayer.”
Depending on the time of day, either Alexa or Google Assistant will either play the morning prayer or evening prayer podcasts, which include the full liturgy of the daily office along with the assigned psalms and readings for the day.
We appreciate your feedback
Thank you to everybody who has taken the time to participate in our various opportunities to engage remotely for worship, sharing, learning, and connection. Until further notice we'll be maintaining our schedule on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, as well as other special services and remote gatherings. Thank you for watching/listening! Thank you for commenting and engaging with each other! And thank you for liking and sharing our videos, Facebook page, and YouTube channel to help spread the word!

We appreciate your feedback about any of these new technologies we are implementing. If you had any technical issues or technical questions, please let us know. Please email your feedback and questions to info@mysjec.com
